Turkey (Frozen)
Local, Pastured

Happy Pastured Turkeys are being raised right now in preparation for Thanksgiving.  Please let us know if you'd like to reserve yours!

Pastured Turkey are not only delicious, but a phenomenal source of nutrition.   We partnered with Deer Haven Farm and Square Roots Farm to bring us these Thanksgiving Turkeys.  These birds have been loved since birth and will be foraging freely in woodlands and pastures until the week of Thanksgiving.  Berkshire Organics' standards ensures these turkeys are antibiotic and growth hormone-free, and free to forage on open pasture.

All Turkeys will be Fresh, not frozen.

Q: What size turkey should I get for Thanksgiving?
A: We recommend 1 to 1.5 pounds per person (1.5 should ensure leftovers).
Q: How long does it take to cook a pasture raised turkey?
A: We recommend 15-18 minutes per pound of turkey at a low cooking temperature at 325°F. Use a cooking thermometer to make sure your turkey is at 165° in one of the thickest parts of meat.
Q: I don't want to cook my fresh turkey until Friday or the weekend following Thanksgiving.  Will it still be fresh?
A: Yes!  You definitely have a week plus to cook your turkey.  Just keep it in the fridge.
Q: Will your turkeys Include Giblets?
A: Yes, each whole turkey includes a bag of giblets (including a heart, liver, and gizzard) and a neck, which you’ll find in the neck cavity.
Q: How do I brine a turkey?
A: The basic wet brine is one cup of coarse sea salt to one gallon of water, making enough to submerge the bird. We recommend a brine time up to but not longer than 12 hours. Herbs are all great additions to brines so be sure to customize to your tastes!

Cost will be $6.99/Lb, so a 12-15 lb bird will start at $83
